The Wind Cannot Read (sh. Vjetar ne može čitati) je britanski igrani film snimljen 1958. godine u režiji Ralpha Thomasa. Predstavlja ekranizaciju istoimenog romana Richarda Masona. Radnja se događa na istoku Indije za vrijeme Drugog svjetskog rata. Protagonist, čiji lik tumači Dirk Bogarde, je britanski zrakoplovni oficir koji se prilikom obuke zaljubi u ženu (čiji lik tumači Yoko Tani koja ga podučava japanski. Film je originalno namjeravao režirati David Lean, pri čemu su glavne uloge trebali tumačiti Glen Ford i Kishi Keiko, ali je zbog svađe sa producentom Alexanderom Kordom napustio projekt, te je umjesto toga preuzeo tematski slični projekt, koji će postati mnogo poznatiji i uspješniji Most na rijeci Kwai.

Za The Wind Cannot Read je napisana pjesma koju je izvodila Vera Lynn, te čiji je autor Peter Hart osvojio nagradu Ivor Novello.[1]
