Otto Hahn (8 Mac 1879-1828 Julai 1968)[1] ialah seorang ahli kimia Jerman dan perintis dalam bidang radioaktif dan radiokimia. Hahn menemui pembelahan nuklear pada tahun 1938. Beliau dirujuk sebagai bapa kimia nuklear.[2] Beliau dianugerahkan Hadiah Nobel dalam Kimia pada tahun 1944 untuk penemuan dan bukti radiokimia pembelahan nuklear. Proses ini dieksploitasi oleh reaktor nuklear dan merupakan salah satu asas senjata nuklear yang dibangunkan di AS semasa Perang Dunia II.
Beliau berkhidmat sebagai Presiden terakhir Persatuan Kaiser Wilhelm (KWG) pada tahun 1946 dan sebagai presiden Persatuan Max Planck (MPG) dari 1948 hingga 1960. Dianggap oleh banyak orang untuk menjadi model kecemerlangan ilmiah dan integriti peribadi, ia menjadi salah seorang warganya yang paling berpengaruh dan dihormati negara pasca perang Jerman Barat baru.
Hahn menentang sosialisme nasional dan penganiayaan terhadap orang Yahudi yang dilakukan rejim Parti Nazi. Albert Einstein menulis bahawa Hahn ialah "salah satu orang yang sangat sedikit yang berdiri tegak dan melakukan sebaik kemampuannya dalam tahun-tahun yang penuh kejahatan".[3] Selepas Perang Dunia II,[4] Hahn kemudiannya menjadi seorang penyokong kuat penggunaan tenaga nuklear sebagai senjata.
