Kesan Rehbinder

Kesan Rehbinder dalam bidang fizik merujuk kepada pengurangan kekerasan dan kemuluran sesuatu bahan, terutamanya logam, oleh filem surfaktan.[1] Kesan ini dinamakan sempena ahli sainss Soviet Piotr Aleksandrovich Rehbinder [ru],[2][3] yang menemui kesannya pada tahun 1928.[4]

Penjelasan yang dicadangkan untuk kesan ini ialah gangguan filem oksida permukaan, dan pengurangan tenaga permukaan oleh surfaktan.[1][5]

Kesannya amat penting dalam pemesinan, kerana pelincir mengurangkan daya pemotongan.[5][6]
