Charivari

Charivari (/ˌʃɪvəˈriː, ˈʃɪvəriː/, /[invalid input: 'ukalso']ˌʃɑːrɪˈvɑːri/, /[invalid input: 'usalso']ʃəˌrɪvəˈriː/,[1][2] alternatifnya dieja shivaree atau chivaree dan juga disebut skimmington) adalah adat istiadat rakyat Eropa dan Amerika Utara yang dirancang untuk mempermalukan anggota komunitas, di mana parade tiruan dipentaskan melalui pemukiman disertai dengan serenade tiruan yang sumbang. Karena tujuan penonton adalah membuat keributan sebanyak mungkin dengan memukul panci dan wajan atau apa pun yang ada, parade ini sering disebut sebagai musik kasar.
