Trimbakeshwar taluka has a population of 168,423 according to the 2011 census. Trimbakeshwar had a literacy rate of 68.91% and a sex ratio of 975 females per 1000 males. 26,691 (15.85%) are under 7 years of age. 12,056 (7.16%) lived in urban areas. Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes make up 4.56% and 80.20% of the population respectively.[3]
