Mohamed Kahin Ahmed (Somali: Maxamed Kaahin Axmed) is a Somaliland politician and former military officer of the Somali National Movement. He is currently serving as the Minister of Interior of Somaliland since December 2017. He has been a prominent member of the Kulmiye Party since its foundation, and served as the deputy chairman of the party from July 2010 to December 2017.[3][4]
Career
Early life
Mohamed Kahin Ahmed was born in Burao, capital of the Togdheer region of Somaliland. He completed his primary and Quranic education in Beer in southern Togdheer. He completed his higher education at Burao Technical Institute.[5]
Military career
He joined the Somali National Army in 1970.[5] he served Somali military intelligence 26th Division base in Hargaisa,
Political career
Kahin served as the Somali National Movement's minister of defence and later on as the first Somaliland Minister of Defence in 1991.[6][7]
