Borów, Kraśnik County
Village in Lublin Voivodeship, Poland
50°48′N 21°55′E / 50.800°N 21.917°E / 50.800; 21.917Borów [ˈbɔruf] is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Annopol, within Kraśnik County, Lublin Voivodeship, in eastern Poland.[1] It lies approximately 10 kilometres (6 mi) south of Annopol, 25 km (16 mi) south-west of Kraśnik, and 68 km (42 mi) south-west of the regional capital Lublin.
History
During the German occupation (World War II), on 2 February 1944, the village was pacified by the occupiers. Some 300 Polish inhabitants were massacred in reprisal for their support for the Polish resistance movement. There is a memorial in the village.
