Allan K. Pruett (June 8, 1948 – December 6, 2008) was an American basketball player.[1] He played college basketball for the Mississippi State Bulldogs and Arkansas State Indians.
Born in Jonesboro, Arkansas, Pruett was raised in Rector, Arkansas, and attended Rector High School.[1] He scored 2,018 points during his high school career and ranks third in scoring in Arkansas boys high school basketball history.[2]
Pruett began his collegiate career with the Mississippi State Bulldogs in 1966.[3] Pruett transferred to play for the Arkansas State Indians in 1969, where he averaged 17.1 points per game and was named to the second-team All-Southland Conference during his first season.[3] He averaged 19.5 points per game during the 1970–71 season and was selected as the Southland Player of the Year alongside Luke Adams of the Lamar Cardinals.[4] He was also named as a member of the first-team All-Southland.[3]
Pruett worked as a special education vocational teacher in the San Antonio Independent School District for 18 years.[1] He died on December 6, 2008, in San Antonio, Texas.[1]
